Horse racing

When it comes to big betting, house races take the cake. A lot of their terminology is universal and betting has defiantly got a language of its own. Leading up to the day of the race, owners and trainers are instructed to decide whether or not their horses will complete their race. These acceptance or declaration stages will take place 1-5 days before the race. This is also depends on the horses Allowance, which is the weight the horse is giving to compensate for the rider’s inexperience. During these early stages betting can take place as well. When betting a day before the race or many months or years is known as Ante Post and may better their odds of winning. All of these bets, and ones placed just before the race, are taken by the Bookmaker or “Bookie.” They are in charge of all the bets and lays out odds. A Tipster is a helpful resource when placing a bet. These are businesses that provide hints or tips about the likely outcome of races. Some Tipsters publish their advice for free in newspapers or on the internet. Other Tipsters charge for their advice.

A lot of Tipsters submit their tips to proofing services that track the success of their tips over time to show you they are a service to be trusted. Based on what the Bookie or Tipster says a punter can rely on a Banker. A Banker is a punter’s strongest selection or one they think is a sure winner and usually forms the base of accumulators. What bettors would call an Accumulator is a bet in which a single stake is used to generate more bets. The individual who places the bet (Punter or Bettor) makes a serious of selections from a different race. Every time a selection wins, the amount of money you give the Bookmaker (Stake) and your winnings is put onto the next selection. If a selection loses the whole bet loses. A Draw occurs during the overnight declaration stage where all entries in a flat race are given a stall number from where they will start on the day of the race. If the race results in a tie between two or more horses, it is also known as a Dead Heat. If your selection is a dead heat you receive the full odds but your stake will be divided by the winners that share your victory.
